What’s with some of these focus group companies wanting me to bring several friends to their paid interviews??
This is the second time I’ve been a part of a focus group where they wanted me to bring a bunch of friends to part two of a study that I had already participated in.
I just finished a 4 day online focus group for Adler Weiner Research and on day 4 they said “you’ve qualified to move to part two of the study for an additional incentive. Please choose 3 friends to bring with you and you each get $150!” I realize this sounds a little sketchy but I’ve done studies with this company before; they’re very legit and I believe they would pay out the $150 to each person. My issue is how on earth am I going to find 3 people who take this kind of thing seriously and are all free at the same time for a TWO HOUR Zoom interview?? And why isn’t my pay significantly larger for doing the grunt work by scouting people and coordinating schedules?
The most frustrating part about it, is they won’t let you participate unless you find and gather the arbitrary number of friends they wanted. If not, they don’t let you do the second portion of the study at all.
I’m also curious, have any of you attempted and/or had success with this?
