Immediately accepted to prolific

I'm in need of some money and learned about prolific through this sub. Not quite sure how it works. I signed up and was accepted to start studys within a couple hours. Do I just wait for studys? How many should I expect? Been on for only a few hours but haven't gotten any studys yet.
