Cloud Research ID Verification Safe?

I've seen posts about screeners on other sites asking for drivers license verification and that being sketchy, but I just got approved for Cloud Research and they want to verify identity with DL or Passport. Is this different from what folks are saying not to do on other sites? Is it safe to do so with them? Thanks
