Why does Appen hate me?

I "applied" on Appen awhile ago, just started applying for individual tasks yesterday. Immediately got approved for a couple, but Appen sent me an email that wasn't very clear, but looked like they were still reviewing some info. Got an email from them today saying they don't have any jobs that match my location, language, skills blah blah, but they will keep my resume on file. How is that possible? Is this normal? I am so frustrated since I have like $40 worth of jobs ready to start.
