Inquiry from a full-time employed, curious Newbie

I'm a full-time professional currently working 40–50 hour weeks at the day job, but I've been considering some BeerMoney options to help make ends meet. I just had a moment of cold feet as mTurk is asking me to fax them my ID (somehow), and wanted to ask the community I've been lurking in for a few months for the hard truth.

If I treat this, or other beermoney sites as something to do briefly in the evening, or with the same energy as a hobby, will I likely see anything substantial? Or, do I really need to commit to this like a part-time job? I'm certainly curious and can see myself committing a half hour to an hour per night, but if that's not quite enough commitment, I may need to hold off/not bother.

Any advice would be welcome, I've enjoyed seeing people sharing advice and support in this community, and it's really gotten me more interested in taking more control over my personal finances.
