How to improve chances of being accepted to Mturk?

I've been putting off applying to Mturk for a while now since I've been a little nervous about getting rejected, I wanted to know if there are things you can do within the rules to improve your chances of getting accepted, like is there a better time of year to apply, does having an amazon prime account help your chances, things like that.
