Why different social media account for microworkers?

I am new to microworker and have read in some posts that they have multiple gmail, twitter or fb accounts to be more efficient.

How do this actually work? If retweeting something gives 1$ do you just do the exactly same HIT with different twitter accounts and send screenshot for each of them? Doesn't your act gets banned for this or is there some other technique?
