Avoid screen timeout in games?

Pretty straightforward, I have a galaxy S9 and there are some apps I have that I can earn points by just having a game pulled up on my phone but I have to keep my phone awake because the screen dims and "locks" every 3-4 minutes and I only earn points when my phone is fully awake.

Not talking about the regular screen timeout, this is different. My normal timeout is set to 10 minutes but that doesn't work when I'm in game. Tried accessing developer mode but the "stay awake" feature didn't work either. Thanks!
