How trustworthy is freelancer.com?

Every reply I've gotten has been the same copy paste with different business names and different phone numbers. I've yet to see anyone on there who wasn't a bot.

I gave debit card info so I could have free 14 days premium but I feel like I should revoke it as the site is sketchy. Does anyone use this website?
