Do these apps actually pay you to play or are they just a hoax?

I've recently been playing a few "play to win" mobile games and it seemed legit. But as soon as i got close to the minimal payout I stopped earning money. Please if u have any info let me know.

Alternatively, are there any mobile games that actually will let you cash out? I'm very busy working and going to school fulltime as well as running a small secondhand shop so mobile apps/ things i can do on the phone is the ideal way to make extra cash.
