Question about Teespring/Redbubble/Amazon

I have photoshop, a drawing tablet and a small amount of artistic talent. When I heard about print on demand sites, it peaked my interest.

 

I thought it would be fun to create some designs, upload them and maybe make a little bit of cash each month. However after reading and watching some videos, it seemed like that approach doesn't work very well.

 

Most suggestions were to create designs with simple quotes/jokes etc and use targeted ads to market them to meme pages and the like. Not sure how I feel about that approach to be honest...

 

Does anyone have any experience with these sites? It is worth giving it a go?
