Don't pay full price for food delivery! Here's a ton of saving/cash back opportunities!

Right now we're seeing a huge demand for services like Doordash, Uber Eats, Postmates, Grubhub, or other related food delivery services in the US. Since you're reading this, you might be someone flocking to use these delivery services as you're trying to self-quarantine.

I'm making this post to try and help you all save as much money as possible for each delivery service. This post guide should save you a ton of money on every delivery, regardless of which delivery service you use.

There's a fuck ton of cash back to be made here.

Save money w/ Delivery Apps!

Uber Eats

  • NEW USERS ONLY: Use a friend's referral code and get $5 off your first order (your friend will also get $5 off their next order. (Note: Using a referral code may negate cash back per the next bullet point).
  • NEW USERS ONLY: There are some cash back offers for your first Uber Eats order. ($15 from TopCashback, $8 from SwagBucks, $10 from Giving Assistant). Stacking properly may result in a profitable first order ;).
  • ORDER FEES WAIVED: Uber has waived all order fees to help support people through coronavirus concerns. Do note that there will still be small order fees (under $10) and service fees.
  • PROMO CODES: Uber Eats often adds promo codes. There's currently no public codes available, but check your email as there are several user-targeted promos. If any public promo codes become available, this section will be updated.
  • CASH BACK OFFERS: Some US Drop users are seeing a 40 Points/$ offer for Uber Eats (4% cash back). This is targeted.
  • PASSIVE CASH BACK OFFERS: There are multiple passive cash back opportunities for Uber Eats. Bumped is offering 0.5% cash back if you have the Uber loyalty selection. Pei is also offering 1% CB for Uber Eats purchases. (Note: This section won't stack the same if you use the next bullet point).
  • GIFT CARD DISCOUNTS: Uber Gift cards can often be found at a discount at /r/GCX. Alternatively, you could buy Amazon.com GCs on /r/GCX, and use those to buy uber gift cards, locking you in with at least a 10% discount. Alternatively, you could lock yourself in up to a 2% discount purchasing Uber GCs from BJs or Sam's if you have a membership. I wouldn't go for 2% off, but from time to time Samsung/PayPal Digital Gifts will have Uber at 10-15% off.
  • AMEX PLATINUM BENEFIT: AMEX Platinum cardholders receive $200 in Uber credits annually, $15/month + $20 bonus in December. This can be used on Uber Eats orders.
  • GETCENTS: Got a friend? GetCents is offering $2 cash for you & $2 cash for your friend when you make a purchase of $15 or more at Uber Eats. Read more about GetCents.

Note: Eats Pass was not included on this list because it's hard to justify since orders are already free for delivery due to COVID-19.

DoorDash

  • NEW USERS ONLY: Use a friend's referral link and get $5 off your first 3 orders. Your friend will also get $10 in credit. (Note: Using a referral code will negate cash back per the next bullet point).
  • NEW USERS ONLY: There are some cash back offers for your first DoorDash order. ($15 from TopCashback, $15 from RebatesMe, $5 from Giving Assistant, $2 from SwagBucks (lame smh)). Stacking properly may result in a profitable first order ;).
  • CASH APP BOOST: Use Cash App? Good. You should have a boost for DoorDash. If you're lucky, you have a boost for 15% off at DoorDash, or 10% off at DoorDash. If you're less lucky, your offer is $5 off at DoorDash, which requires you to make 5 purchases at DoorDash before you're allowed to use it. Either way, good discount if you order a lot.
  • CASH BACK OFFERS: This is really insignificant. I can't lie. But if you want you can shop through RetailMeNot and earn 1% cash back 🙌.
  • PROMO CODES: DoorDash often offers promo codes that will add a discount to your order. The only public promo code available is GETMCDS for $5 off $15+ orders from McDonald's. If any additional public promo codes become available, this section will be updated.
  • DASHPASS: The DashPass is a subscription service that can be purchased that will give you a discount on each DoorDash order. It's $10/month and will be useful if you're someone who will order more than a few times/month on DoorDash. DashPass will grant you a $0 delivery fee as well as reduced service fees on orders over $12 from any restaurant with the DashPass checkmark. DashPass isn't useful if you're intending on placing orders worth less than $12. A free trial may be available.
  • CHASE CARD BENEFITS: Several chase cards have recently added a benefit for free DashPass up to 2 years. Depending on your card, you might also get up to $60/year DoorDash credit as a benefit. Read more about these benefits and cards affected here.
  • GIFT CARDS: Costco is currently selling $50 DoorDash gift cards for 10% off. You might be able to find DoorDash gift cards on /r/GCX at a discount, or you can purchase Amazon gift cards from users on /r/GCX and lock in a discount by purchasing DoorDash gift cards on Amazon here.
  • GETCENTS: Got a friend? GetCents is offering $3 cash for you & $3 cash for your friend when you make a purchase of $10 or more at DoorDash. Read more about GetCents.

Postmates

Postmates for me has personally been the best option for discounts and cheap delivery. Just in the last week I've found several promo codes that work for me. In several cases, my cost of meal + delivery has been cheaper than if I were to go to the store myself and make a purchase. I do pay for unlimited membership, though. It's highly worth it for me.

  • NEW USERS ONLY: Postmates usually has a promotion for new users who sign up through a referral code... Their terms page seems to be broken. The deal is usually a $100 worth of delivery credit when you use a referral code. Not sure if this is still the case. The offer for the referrer is $25 in Postmates credit for deliveries (good for 7 days). (Note: Using a referral code will negate cash back per the next bullet point). (In any case, you can support like any content creator by using their promo code. I remembered using Philip Defranco's code when I first joined.)
  • NEW USERS ONLY: There are some cash back offers for your first Postmates order. ($11 from Giving Assistant, $10 from TopCashBack).
  • CASH BACK OFFERS: This is big, and it's 100% where Postmates shines. You can either earn $1 CB as an existing user through TopCashBack, or, if you're spending more than $5 (which you are), RetailMeNot is offering a whopping 20% CB on all orders goddamn. This should always get you more CB than if you were to go with TopCashBack.
  • ORDER FEES WAIVED: Due to COVID-19, Postmates announced they'll be, "dropping delivery fees by half from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on orders of $10 or more." What's interesting here is that like.. you'll probably find a promo code that will cover it entirely, so this isn't that useful tbh. More in "promo codes" section below.
  • PROMO CODES: Promo codes are by far the biggest feature of Postmates. There's so many goddamn promo codes that exist at any given time it seems, that there's almost guaranteed to be at least one promo code that will work for you to either remove the delivery fee, or give you a discount on your total order. Instead of posting the promo codes here and updating it (since it'd be too much work), I'd like to direct your attention to /r/postmates' Monthly existing users promo codes thread. It's updated extremely frequently.
  • POSTMATES UNLIMITED: Postmates Unlimited is just like Eats Pass or DashPass. It's $10/month, just like the competition. There's a free trial. Enjoy. You'll get free delivery on all orders over $12, no minimum cat fees, and you'll never get blitz pricing. I pay for this. I find it to be the best value of all the delivery service options, thanks to the number of stackable promo codes.
  • GETCENTS: Got a friend? GetCents is offering $7 cash for you & $7 cash for your friend when you make a purchase of $25 or more at Postmates. Read more about GetCents.

Conclusion

I'm aware that this post doesn't include all of the delivery apps. I've included three of the apps that tend to be the most common. For others, you'll often find a "new user" bonus available if you check several rebate sites/apps that you use. Similarly, you'll find almost any delivery service on GetCents as well if you're looking to try something out. For some negative cost meals, I'd really recommend trying out each service at least once at one point or another, but in the long run it's usually a good idea to try and stick with one delivery app and opt for an "unlimited" delivery option.

As a total aside, I'll say that if you're looking for some quick money and you're an introvert like most of us here on reddit, now is probably the best time to start as a delivery driver. Right now there's less traffic on the road for faster deliveries, less/no human interaction for the actual deliveries, and people seem to be tipping generously to their "courageous" drivers.

Please feel free to comment if there are any saving opportunities/discount stackings/cash backs that might be missing!
