Hideout - is little to no ads per video a thing?

Just started on hideout - left it running on fullscreen with volume on (not maxed but on) on my laptop. Its only running on my laptop.

After around 30 minutes (?) of playing 2 minute videos, I've only received 1 ad and 2.2 hidepot points. At the start of every video, when hideout states 'ad loading', it usually doesn't load and just plays the video immediately.

Is this usual/what am I doing wrong?
