Having poor luck with all suggested websites

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I've signed up for nearly every website listed here as reliable and still make less than $1/day.

I keep seeing posts recommending survey sites and, while they aren't my favorite, I'm always willing to check them out. In the end, it's nearly always just surveys that have especially low payment (for example, a 45 minute survey that pays $0.20). Other folks seem to be making considerably more.

Is it my demographics? I can't figure out what the issue is. I don't need to make a living, but at least a few dollars per day would help a lot.
