Miles app gift cards

I joined Miles for a couple years now but never had enough miles to buy gift cards. Now that I do, I realize I can’t buy anything since they’re always sold out, I need to either place a bid (which someone always already bid with a ridiculous high amount I don’t even have so I can’t win no matter what), or I can play raffles, which I have never ever won either. Anyone has good experience with gift cards before? I’m feeling like I’m being scammed the whole time now.
