This week's grocery haul: I got paid $34 to take $114 worth of Makeup, Soap, Deodorant, Snacks, and more!
Here are the goodies.
Today's haul was pretty good, and it certainly could have been even better. I messed up a bit on the Axe Deodorant deal, and the Culturelle was particularly "expensive" but it was something I needed. I also noticed the Talenti deal came back and had to grab some. Overall though, I'd say I'm pretty pleased with this haul. I think it's one of the highest amounts of cash back I've gotten.
Total: $114.41
Coupons: $14.00
Total Cash Back: $119.15
Final Cost: -$33.74 - Money Maker!
Here is the complete break down and sites used. The Atkins coupon was on the product. Everything else was printable. FieldAgent had a $5 bonus for posting on Facebook. The Ritz in the "extra" column is now a dead deal. It was like a digital coupon. I don't include sites that take any receipt such as Coinout, ReceiptPal, etc on my breakdown. The stores are listed in the breakdown image. Brandclub takes a while to credit, so the amounts listed are what I expect to get once it finishes pending.
Brandclub is a newer addition to my hauls. If you're not familiar with the app, you can read about it on the post I made the other day. I also have a guide about how I do trips like this if you're interested. Note: Individual deals vary by user for most apps. If you don't have the deals right now, you can try checking back later.
If you aren't interested in this kind of thing, please keep your comments to yourself. If you don't like what I buy, you can buy different products. If you don't like hunting for deals, you can do surveys, microtasks, games or whatever else you like instead. There is no need to discourage other users just because you aren't interested in the same things!
Some additional deals I didn't/couldn't take advantage of:
-
COTY Fragrances - There's a small bottle for $3.97, and $4 back on Ibotta + $1 on Fetch.
-
Betr Ibuprofin is $7.62 at my store with $6 back on Ibotta
-
Malt o Meal is on Shopkicks for 800+ points. This offer has been going up and up.
-
Clorox - $3.21 back on MyPoints when you buy 2.
-
Red Gold Tomato Love - Free on Ibotta & $0.25 back on Fetch
-
Lots of stacking deals for Maybeline New York on Fetch
-
Lots of stacking deals for Mtn Dew Spark, Major Melon, and Zero on Fetch. Plus there's printable coupons for multipacks of Pepsi products.
-
Tons of free stuff on Ibotta.
-
Tidy Cats has $3 back on Ibotta and 350 kicks on Shopkick.
-
Arm & Hammer kids is $5 back on Swagbucks and $0.87 back on Checkout51. Comes out to be about a quarter when you buy 2.
-
Queens V Hygiene has a bundle on Shopkick for 4100 kicks that is a pretty good money maker.
-
Kellogg's Free Breakfast Program - You can get a coupon for one free product up to $5 for Kellogg's Cereal, Pop-Tart, Nutri-Grain, or Eggo when you purchase an eligible product. Limit of 3. Just a note/warning - my coupon didn't scan properly at Wal-Mart (most of the "free" ones don't). The employees at my store don't have a problem entering it manually, but ymmv. Expires 7/10/22
-
$5 Vudu promo code when you buy 1 bag of Twizzlers Expires 9/10/22
-
Motrin - $2 back on Ibotta, $2.50 on C51. Walmart has it for ~$5-6. CVS Has them at $6-7 but they often give out 40% off coupons.
Afterthoughts
So, this past week I spent quite a bit of time doing an overhaul on my spreadsheet. I added a lot of little features and a script, which you guys won't see, but it will significantly cut back on the amount of time I spend making up my posts for Reddit. I hate to admit it, but I usually spent at least an hour fixing things up on the spreadsheet each week after I got home just for these posts. It was ridiculous. I now have a script that'll clean up my list so it's ready for Reddit. No more fussing around with it; it's just ready to be screenshotted. I also added a new "Cost for Bonus" section. This section will point out how much I spent on Ibotta items in order to get the Ibotta bonus(es). It doesn't include any of the money makers since I would get those regardless of the bonus. It truly shows how much extra I had to spend to hit the bonus.
Today's haul was a bit stressful to plan, but I got a nice amount of cash back total so that was nice. I didn't have a particularly big bonus, but I really struggled to put together some deals. A lot of the deals I knew about had expired, and most of the deals I was finding I just wasn't interested in. A good third of this haul I probably won't use. I also messed up on that Axe Deodorant deal. I thought I still had a SK rebate (albeit lower), but it was for the body wash not the deodorant. I also didn't notice that my $1 bonus had expired on Ibotta. Definitely wouldn't have gotten it if I knew. While I was at the store I noticed a lot of the prices were different than what I saw online. Unfortunately, I'm not terribly familiar with beauty & personal product pricing. On the up side, I found that Enfagrow in the clearance aisle which was an easy money maker. I almost got baited into buying a bunch more discounted cat toys (there was even a moving toy shark...) and some kitchen supplies. The clearance aisle can be dangerous. I somehow managed to escape with only that Enfagrow, some rubber gloves, and a box of Jolly Rancher Jello.
After coming home, my Atkins rebates disappeared, so now I get to contact support about that. I usually scan my receipt while at the store, but I was rushing home to finish the FieldAgent job. Whoops. A Softsoap rebate showed up though, which I had specifically looked for before, so that was nice, but I would have gotten 2 if I knew earlier.
Also, not really related to this post, but here's a treat for those who actually read through all my ramblings - Swagbucks currently has an offer for $10 to download the Box Tops app and scan one receipt. Super easy and it pends right away. Credits in 7 days.
Time Spent
Today was a bit rough. I started planning it on and off over the span of about 3 hours while I ate breakfast, played with the cat, read manga, and did whatever else I usually do in the mornings, but things just weren't working out. I then spent 20-30 minutes fully focused on it to review every deal I didn't have memorized to find the last ~10 or so rebates to hit the bonuses. I spent about an hour and a half total at the store which includes the time it took to do my regular shopping, returning two products I previously bought (~10 min), and a good extra 15 minutes spent at the register since it was acting up. It didn't want to take my coupons, then it threw a fit about me trying to pay (how dare I try to pay for my order), and finally the whole system crashed after it printed my receipt. I think Wal-Mart changed something because I had trouble with their registers earlier in the week too.
Food From Deals
I wasn't feeling well this past week, so I didn't cook much. I did make some Cranberry Lime Honeysuckle Lemonade from some of that tea though. It turned out pretty tasty. Now I want to try making Lemonade from all the different herbal teas I have.
Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.
