This week's grocery haul: I got paid $10 to take $63 worth of Tea, Deodorant, Potting Soil, Snacks, and more!
Here are the goodies.
This was a last minute throw together. It's on the small side, but I'm pretty pleased with it since I got rebates on a few things that I didn't actually expect to get any deals on. Definitely could have been a better money maker, but I barely spent any time planning and just grabbed whatever. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised it even ended up being a money maker with all that expensive tea that I was buying regardless of the rebates.
Total: $63.44
Coupons: $6.97
Total Cash Back: $66.92
Final Cost: -$10.45 - Money Maker!
Here is the complete break down and sites used. The Brainiac coupon was one I got forever ago in the mail. I forget how I requested it. I don't include sites that take any receipt such as Coinout, ReceiptPal, etc on my breakdown. The stores are listed in the breakdown image. Brandclub takes a while to credit, so the amounts listed are what I expect to get once it finishes pending. Not 100% sure that Axe antiperspirant will credit on SK. I stupidly forgot to scan it in the store.
Brandclub is a newer addition to my hauls. If you're not familiar with the app, you can read about it on the post I made the other day. I also have a guide about how I do trips like this if you're interested. Note: Individual deals vary by user for most apps. If you don't have the deals right now, you can try checking back later.
If you aren't interested in this kind of thing, please keep your comments to yourself. If you don't like what I buy, you can buy different products. If you don't like hunting for deals, you can do surveys, microtasks, games or whatever else you like instead. There is no need to discourage other users just because you aren't interested in the same things!
Some additional deals I didn't/couldn't take advantage of:
-
COTY Fragrances - There's a small bottle for $3.97, and $4 back on Ibotta + $1 on Fetch.
-
Betr Ibuprofin is $7.62 at my store with $6 back on Ibotta
-
Tresemme Conditioner - Potential money maker with Shopkick + BC. Same deal I had for the shampoo. The conditioner just disappeared for a bit for me so I didn't grab it.
-
Malt o Meal is on Shopkicks for 500 points.
-
Clorox - $3.21 back on MyPoints when you buy 2.
-
Red Gold Tomato Love - Free on Ibotta & $0.25 back on Fetch
-
Lots of stacking deals for Maybeline New York on Fetch
-
Lots of stacking deals for Mtn Dew Spark, Major Melon, and Zero on Fetch
-
Swagbucks has $10 back on a $15 purchase of Pure Life water
-
Tons of free stuff on Ibotta. Some new stuff popped up yesterday.
-
Kaboom and Oxiclean at Dollar General - Pair with the $5/25 Saturday coupon, and many stores have coupons on the products (mine didn't). Plus there's Swagbucks & C51.
-
Kellogg's Free Breakfast Program - You can get a coupon for one free product up to $5 for Kellogg's Cereal, Pop-Tart, Nutri-Grain, or Eggo when you purchase an eligible product. Limit of 3. Just a note/warning - my coupon didn't scan properly at Wal-Mart (most of the "free" ones don't). The employees at my store don't have a problem entering it manually, but ymmv. Expires 7/10/22
-
$5 Vudu promo code when you buy 1 bag of Twizzlers Expires 9/10/22
-
Walgreens - 2x Merci Chocolate + Gift Card = ~$6.42 on MyPoints. It should be a slight money maker.
-
Walgreens - Nair is $12.85 back on MyPoints when you buy 2, and there's also a deal on C51. Should be a money maker or cheap.
-
Butterfinger, crunch, 100 grand - CVS / Walgreens - Buy 3 and get $3.20 back. Possibly a money maker or cheap candy bars, depending on your store's prices.
-
Motrin - $2 back on Ibotta, $2.50 on C51. Walmart has it for ~$5-6 and Target supposedly has one for $3.99.
Afterthoughts
So, I was definitely planning on taking a break after last month. However, I forgot I had an appointment in another town, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to get in on some of those sweet, sweet Target and Walgreen deals when I'd finally be going past the stores. I threw my haul together in the 10 or so minutes I could squeeze out of the time I had before walking out the door. I decided to stop by Walmart first since that would be the most efficient route, but after circling the store like 4 times to try to grab everything in this massive, unfamiliar Wal-Mart in my exhausted and bread-dead state, I decided I no longer had the energy to go to Target and Walgreens. Silly me thought I'd get breakfast/lunch at Wal-Mart after my appointment since I wasn't really hungry in the morning, but by the time I managed to find half the items in Wal-Mart I just couldn't summon the energy to go to the next store. So, I just reworked my list for Wal-Mart and called it a day. Note to self: Buy lunch, eat in the car, and then go back in afterwards for the deal shopping.
My haul is pretty inefficient since I focused on stuff I wanted, but I'm okay with that. That Bigelow tea was particularly "expensive", but I actually didn't even realize there was a deal for it at first. It caught my eye when I was looking at the Tazo tea, and I decided to scan it just for shiggles. It's not bad, but I definitely prefer Tazo.
I saw that my keto core bars reset on Ibotta to 50% off, so I was pretty excited about that. I also saw that the Coconut Core bar is on Brandclub, so I hope they add the other ones as well. The clorox was an unexpectedly good deal. I saw it went up from 600 points to 1000, and then somehow I submitted my receipt for 2000. I noticed a lot of rebates going up this week on SK.
I have a somewhat big bonus (48 items for $10) that will expire on the 16th. Not sure if I'll bother to do it or not.
Time Spent
Today's trip was a bit different than normal. I spent ~10 minutes planning while mostly focused on it, but I originally intended to stop at Target, Walgreens and possibly Giant Eagle as well. I was too tired though and didn't feel like going, so I just reworked a few deals while in Walmart to hit the bonus. I was in the store for probably 1.5 hours total - but I was in an unfamiliar store, and it included a lot of running back and forth as well as a LOT of time spent in the garden section.
Food From Deals
Nothing new from my last post. I've been mostly just eating things up. Instead, I'll show off a few of my favorites so far: Lemon Butter Bundt Cake, Egg & Pepperoni on a Cheddar Jalapeno Wrap, and of course I can't forget these Cinnamon Eolls that I keep making.
Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.
