Checkout51 - Cash back on groceries, gasoline, and other essentials

Checkout51

Checkout51 is an app/website that focuses on giving you cash back for buying specific products. Offers are available until 11:59PM EDT on each Wednesday. Most offers will reset which allows you to do them multiple times, but you have to make sure to upload your receipt by Wednesday for that period. Although they have a website, you can only load offers to your account, upload receipts, and contact support with it.

They are currently running a Cashmas in July event. I'm not sure if the rebates are the same for everyone, but I have $0.20 rebates for Chicken and Chocolate Chips. Offers can only be added on the app.

There are also a couple videos down at the bottom of the offers.

In addition to that, they also have a few other things. I have not used these offers before though, and I only just noticed them now.

  • Cash back for purchasing gas - It seems to give around $0.10/gallon back, but it only works at select stores. You must make a purchase within 4 hours of activating the offer, and then you have up to 24 hours to upload your receipt. This cannot be used with any other.

  • Cash back for online purchases at select stores - The stores are pretty limited, but they do have things like Burger King and Home Depot.

  • Surveys available through inbrain.ai - I clicked on one survey, and it went to Samplicious, so it's probably the same surveys you see on other sites. To get to them, you need to scroll over to the survey category at the top of the page. These surveys look to be very low paying, but it seems like it might offer you more if you unlock the higher levels.

  • Pharmacy savings - They have a card you can use to save up to 80% on prescription medication. They claim that 70% of their users already have insurance and this card may let you get your medication even cheaper.

Pros

  • You can upload receipts on the website.

  • Most offers allow you to claim the rebate multiple times.

  • Many offers reset on Thursday, so you can keep redoing the offers each week.

  • They occasionally have videos you can watch. You can find these at the bottom of the rebates.

  • Checkout51 works with online orders. You just need the packing slip.

  • They have a lot of well known name brands. I frequently see things like Nabisco, Atkins, Claritin, and Advantage.

  • You can add loyalty cards to your account so that you don't have to remember to scan your receipt.

  • They log which devices you've logged into and their IP addresses until you remove the information. This makes it easy to ensure there wasn't any unauthorized accesses.

Cons

  • You typically cannot use any other coupon or rebate with Checkout51. The only offers that ever seem to allow it are ones where you get cash back for purchasing any brand of the specific product.

  • Although they have a website and you can upload receipts on it, you can only cash out on the app.

  • You don't get to specify how much you want to cash out. It just takes it all.

  • Getting rewards is a bit slow. PayPal can take 5-15 business days, and mailed checks can take 15-30 business days.

  • You must upload your receipt by Wednesday or you will lose out on your rewards.

  • There is a limited amount of times a rebate can be used each week. If it runs out before you scan your receipt, then you won't be able to claim it. Most of the more popular rebates run out by Sunday. However, I have had success with contacting support the following week if the offer resets.

  • Offers need to be loaded to your account before you redeem them. I have found it's fine if I add them the same day though.

Overall opinion

I used to really like this app, but I've been finding it harder and harder to get really good deals on things. Most offers reset each week, which is great if you find something you like, but I often don't purchase the items they have or in the quantities that are required. For example, right now they have $1 off two Nabisco cookies or crackers, but I try to only buy them one at a time or else I'll just devour two boxes instead of one box. Since there are so few offers, it take a while to get to the $20 minimum to cash out as well. I've been using this app since 2016, but I've only earned $170 with it. I still use it because any money back is good, but I do wish they had more offers. Unfortunately, the nearest eligible gas station is quite a ways away too, so I probably won't get to make use of that very often either.
