Is upwork worth it?

Hi guys, so i'm currently doing a couple of online jobs but the monthly income dosn't depend on how much I work. I mean it's a great job and i make a pretty good amount from it i would just want something extra that is more stable.

So i googled a bit and found out about upwork and like fiverr but i don't really understand how it works

will i actually make money considering im a beginner?
