Suggested Lindsey Graham speech
This is a suggested speech for Senator Lindsey Graham before the Senate trial for impeachment if there is one.:
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
I come to try Trump, not to acquit him.
The evil that men do lives after them.
The good is oft interred with their bones.
So, let it be with Trump. The noble Pelosi
Hath told you Trump committed impeachable offenses:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Trump answered it.
Here, under leave of Pelosi and the rest–
For Pelosi is an honorable woman.
So are they all, all honorable men, and women–
Come, I to speak in Trump’s impeachment trial before the Senate.
He was mine and your friend, faithful and just to us:
But Pelosi says he committed impeachable offenses.
And Pelosi is an honorable woman.
And he hath returned many of our brave soldier back to the USA.
He hath brought huge sums of money back to the USA.
His tariffs did the general coffers fill:
Did this in Trump seem impeachable?
When that the families of the wounded and dead have cried, Trump hath wept:
Impeachable offenses should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Pelosi says he committed impeachable offenses.
And Pelosi is an honorable woman.
You all did see that at the State of the Union.
the crowds acclaimed his achievements, improved economy and he humbly proclaimed these were the achievements of all the people.
was this an impeachable offense?
Yet Pelosi says he was committed impeachable offenses.
And, sure, she is an honorable woman.
I speak not to disprove what Pelosi spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to support him?
O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason. Bear with me.
My heart is in the docket there with Trump,
And I must pause till it come back to me.
