Purchasing new CPU

How do I know if the new will fit? I currently use a Intel core i5 7400 3.00 GHz CPU I'm looking to upgrade to atleast a 50% increase in power - What am I looking for?
Would a Intel Core i5 9600K 3.7 GHz 9MB fit?
would a Intel Core i5 10500 3.1 GHz 12MB work?
