IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: Is this for real???
I got this message today that's really weird and deals with the craigslist studies I post.
"Hello,
After investigating, it has come to our attention from participants who took our survey which is conducted by The City University of New York that they received the link from your post. We’ve received over 500 fraudulent submissions all within 2 hours of you posting the link to our survey on beermoney. We received false data as well as individuals creating multiple entries to receive incentives. This diminishes our ability to accurately collect data and legally, this behavior constitutes fraud. We do NOT want any of our studies posted on your subreddit, which is dedicated to making money online, because it interferes with the integrity of our research; thus ruining time, resources, and compromise of data. We will be forwarding your account to the Internet Crime Complaint Center - a section of the FBI that deals with Internet Crimes as well as the office of the Inspector General. We strive to collect quality and robust data from honest individuals. You are promoting illegal behavior by posting our research studies to individuals who only see an opportunity for monetary gain. We will be in touch with other universities to inform of what is happening; assuming they are having the same issues. At this time we ask that you refrain from posting any more of our studies."
Like, wtf? First, guys, really, stop spamming the studies and giving false data. But also, is this for real? The account is like a day old, don't know what to think of it. Never heard of internet crime complaint center until now. Also "You are promoting illegal behavior by posting our research studies to individuals who only see an opportunity for monetary gain" -- isn't that basically craigslist, lol????
