Slide - get 4% back with a new cash back app from the makers of Raise
I just had an email this morning from Raise (the gift card people) telling me about a new app they are launching called Slide. It claims to be a contactless payment app that gives you 4% back on purchases at over 150 partner stores including (from their site) Lowes, Petco, iTunes, Dunkin, Panera, and more, but if you "preload" your balance, then you get an extra 1% back. There are no restrictions on the earning amount, and it works both in store and online. The minimum withdrawal limit is $15, and can be done through Venmo or PayPal, although it seems like your cashback balance can also be used to pay for things too.
It looks like it works by linking your Apple Pay or a credit/debit card to the app, and then it generates a barcode for you to use in store to pay. as they say on the site - it works like a giftcard without any leftover balance. (It'll be interesting to see if it stacks with cashback on credit cards.)
Right now, it seems to only be available on iOS, but there is a waitlist signup to be notified when it is available on Android. I'm an Android user, so can't vouch for the app yet, but I can vouch for Raise. More information is on their page at getslide.com.
