Prolific studies instantly full

I just started doing prolific since a week ago, had 7 studies so far, all within the 3-5 min mark paying a couple of pennies. I noticed that substantial studies are few and far between, and whenever one pops up, it is instantly filled within a second. I installed the prolific addon and drop everything and click on it as soon as I hear the alarm, yet I never make it.

So my question is: Is prolific full of bots and script users? Does prolific ban people who use scripts and bots on their site? Are you able to consistently make it into the longer studies?

I am questioning if prolific is even worth doing, if I will only ever make it into studies that pay 0,10£ a piece.
