Click Farming/Phone Farming is it still a thing?

I just saw a post on r/passiveincome where a dude had 50 win10 tablets setup on a stand. He claimed to make $1000 per month from it. I have a few devices I could dedicate to farming. Is it still a thing? What is the most profitable? Perk?
