What is the rule for old threads?

I have had a few posts that were deleted without a warning or an infraction. What is the rule; or acceptable date and time limit for bumping old threads? Should there be a limit or should we allow anyone to post in anything? As long as it's quality and not "thread-crapping" or "spam".
