It's been 20 days and I haven't received the $50 gift card from the Hyundai test drive offer. Anyone have similar stories?
I went in for the Hyundai test drive offer the morning of September 5 at my local Hyundai dealer and met with a salesperson shortly after they opened. I explained to him that as a college student, I wasn't interested in purchasing a new car and was only there for the $50 gift card promotion. He kindly said that was fine and proceeded to enter my drivers license information into their system, having me text him my coupon code for the promotion so he could forward it to someone who would then email me the gift card (because I guess they hadn't arrived for work yet, seeing as I showed up right after the dealer opened). He said the gift card could take up to 10 days to hit my email. After all this was taken care of, he took me on a brief "test drive" around the block in a new Santa Fe and I was out of the dealer pretty quickly.
It's now been 20 days and I've emailed the dealer twice and heard nothing back. This is disappointing for a couple of reasons. The salesperson was extremely nice but even worse, as a college student, I have bills due in a couple of days and I made the mistake of depending on this $50 gift card for a portion of them (hoping I could either exchange it for currency to pay the bills or pay them right from the card, assuming that would have been possible).
I understand it was naive to depend on this offer for such an integral expenditure, but even if I didn't direly need the money, this is $50 I was promised and haven't received.
Has anyone else had any trouble with these test drive offers, specifically with Hyundai? It's causing me a lot of stress at the moment to be waiting for my money indefinitely, having to come to terms with the fact that I probably won't be getting it anyways.
