What's Hot and What's Not in August. What's New and What's News.
August is looking up. Mturk is crazy good for me so far. And everything else seems to be status quo.
Over the next week I plan on working on a post about the GPT industry as a whole, changes we are seeing and expect to see and things like that. And then, shortly after the monthly earnings report goes up, Ill have a day by day break down of how I earn what I earn on Swagbucks. And why you should and shouldnt use them.
Lets look at the mid month report
Whats Hot:
-
Honeygain - They paid me this month so now I have confirmaton of that. Plus recently Ive been earning over $1 a day and its passive. But there are some potential issues.. see the What's Not section
-
Prolific Academic - Seems Im putting them here every month.. but this month im on pace for $60 which is well above average with them
-
BeerMoney Subreddit Mods - Ya know, I think its about time we all give some credit to the people running this sub. This sub stays almost completely scam and spam free. Its not overun by people just posting their ref links with no substance.. and have ya'll noticed that for the past several months there have been oppurtunities to win money with no other requirement besides being active posters in good standing? /u/threw_it_to_ground and /u/mikazah deserve major credit for keep a sub this size running so smoothly.
Whats Not
PrizeRebel - Let me start by saying that PrizeRebel has been a favorite program of mine. They supported the podcast last year and their rep and I have chatted on numerous occassions. That said.. my job here and in the uncoming website is to never let personal feelings or past performance bias current issues with programs. So its time to talk about Prize Rebel in this space
First issue seems to be PR's sudden problem with member retention. Let me preface that by saying GPT has a very high dropout rate. The constant issues such as late DQs, non-crediting surveys and offers etc make it something that a lot of people quickly drop.. BUT.. recently several people, including myself have seen HUGE drops in ref earnings or a total stop. Im down 75% from June. Another guy who was making $30 in a week now makes $1.50. And these are all people with hundreds of refs. Assuming there is nothing wrong with PR's accounting.. this indicates a mass exodus and that is an alarming sign.
Now. lets talk about what could be causing that mass exodus. IMO, PR is getting left in the dust by newer GPTs for two reasons.. #1. Rates. PR has some of the worst offer wall rates, hideout rates and acewall rates in the GPT space. And people are starting to notice rates more now that newer GPTs like GG2U, Reward XP and even GainGG have started popping up with great rates on just about all offers, videos and survey offerings.. And while PR has an absolutely amazing 30% top referral earning rate, if I cant bring myself to refer because of the substandard rates, that 30% means nothing. I would rate see the top rate reduced to increase overall rates. And then there is also a 2nd reason..
People are also flocking to these new GPTs because they offer warm human interaction when people have issues or suggestions etc. GG2U and RewardXP are often on the beermoney Discord. RewardXP, GainGG and others have their own Discords. These programs have people to process redemptions and handle support at least 12 hours a day. Hell, even Earnhoney, an OG in this industry, now has a dedicated person on reddit and discord. In the 2019 GPT world, just sitting behind a support desk isnt cutting it. Live Chat, discord and/or an open subreddit with someone around a good portion of the time is what people are expecting.
Prize Rebel has been around for 11 years. They are a long term stable name in this industry. But Sears, Blockbuster and Kodak were iconic in their industries too. They didnt change with the times. Didnt adapt. And thus they died (or almost have). I dont want to see that happen to PR... but for now they definitely are NOT HOT.
Rewardable - What a mess Rewardable is! Earlier this week they announced that photo id would be reqired for any pending cashouts. This in itself doesnt make them a mess. I expect more programs to start doing similar security measures. But Its the way they did it. First.. why 2 months ago, could anyone contact them on reddit and immediately get their cashout.. no id and face pic needed. So now they are treating members differently. This new requirement should NOT be retroactive.
2nd.. WHY SHOULD WE TRUST A COMPANY WITH OUR FACE PICS WHEN THEY HAVE OPENLY ADMITTED THEY COULDNT EVEN SECURE THEIR OWN COMPANY????? Seriously. They claim they will just delete, shread whatever. But this is the same company that claims they have lost thousands of dollars because they were too inept to properly secure their server and/or too cheap to hire a cyber security company. But everything is fine now and we can trust them with pics of our face and ID..................
HoneyGain - Yup.. on both the hot and the not. Reports are starting to show up that honeygain is causing issues with HideoutTV and maybe other programs. So far I personally havent had any but everyone should use this program at their own risk. Unfortunately they dont give us any way to block sites like fluidstack does, so we are at their mercy for whatever they use our bandwidth for.
Whats New: (New programs Ive been checking out)
-
BentoFox - Ascend Media (the owners of Hideout TV) launched their own GPT called BentoFox which offers the highest rate (duh) for both Hideout TV and the Ascend Offerwall. I personally think all GPTs carrying those products should be appalled that the supplier has now become their direct competitor. But I did cashout and payment was recieved
-
Cocoon Browser - Follow up from last month. They claimed to have some kinda error that was causing people's totals to be way too high. My $71 turned into $3.06. Browser is just another Chrome clone so there is no issue in using it. But it was definitely too good to be true when it was appearing to be making $10 a week.
-
Current Music App - Heard this was already nerfed some. But gonna try it out over the next month.
Whats News:
- Cint, the swedish based Survey Router, bought out the parent company of the very popular Your Surveys, survey router. Cint and Dynata now own most of the survey routers we see on GPT>
- Eloot now requires SMS verify on all accounts. This is another security measure I expect to see coming soon. After getting hit with message chargebacks and losing a major survey router temporarily, eloot instituted SMS verify for all accounts. Expect this to become a regular thing over the next year or 2.
- Grabpoints raised their rates on their survey offerings. Grabpoints has seemed to fall into the 2nd tier of GPTs and it seems they are trying to claw their way back up.
- Club Scoops seems dying or dead. This micro survey site came out of the gate hot a couple months back but already seems to have fizzled out. I just get a blank white screen. And a message I was shown had the rep admitting that they lack any new question inventory and where heading toward a shutdown.
