Just received card info from Paytime - what I did with it
I know some of us were talking about Paytime switching to a prepaid card and what we were going to do with it after we got the information for it. Well, I finally got my card information today (took 5 days). I first scoured the website the card is through (Cardportal) for a way to do a bank transfer and there doesn’t seem to be one. There does however seem to be an interesting “fee” tab that is like 3%. Not sure what that means for future payments but if I get charged a fee for not even using the card, I’ll probably email their team to get it shut down. Rather not have some random collections agency coming after me about a negative balance on what’s supposed to be a “pre-paid” card. It should also be noted I got $12.98 deposited on the card when choosing the Showtime subscription.
I attempted to add it to Venmo to just do a quick send to one person and have them send it back to me trick, Venmo rejected the card. I added it to my PayPal account and then realized duh, you can’t send money to yourself so now it’s just in there. I went onto Amazon and chose to “reload” my gift card balance. Put in the card information and it accepted it. We’ll see if the payment processes but I requested to put the whole $12.98 into my GC balance on Amazon’s website. If that works, I’ll likely just continue to do that. Amazon recognizes it as a regular old MasterCard and didn’t seem to bat an eye at accepting it as a payment, so I’m guessing it’ll be fine.
Just thought I’d update everyone who was still on the fence about cashing out or wondering how it worked post receiving the card!
