Appstation (Android) - Get paid for playing games - A brief summary of my experiences with the app (links included)

For the last few weeks I've been trying and testing Appstation, which claims to pay out for paying mobile games, so hopefully the below will be of use to some people. The app pays for the duration of time the game is running and is not a case of having to achieve certain objectives like "reach level 10".

I am based in the UK, trialed the app using an android phone and have so far withdrawn £15, with another £5 currently accrued

How it works

The general idea is that each day you will get 1-4 game recommendations (these do not tend to refresh for a few days if you choose not install one of them). Each of these games will earn you X points every Y seconds, and these figures change the longer you have the game open, with the value for Y increasing - more on this in the summary. You don't need to be active in the games for points to accrue.

What it pays

6399 points - £0.50 Paypal

12669 points - £1.00 Paypal

31044 points - £2.5 Paypal, Amazon, Steam,

60243 points - £5 Paypal, Amazon, Steam, Pizza Express, Starbucks, , Zalando

119281 points - £10 Paypal, Amazon, Steam, iTunes, Pizza Express, Starbucks, TK Maxx , Zalando

233814 points - £20 Paypal, Amazon, Steam, Starbucks,

639999 points - £50 Steam

What are the negatives

For one thing it can be quite slow to accrue the points, and should be viewed more as a passive earning system than anything else. The First 4-8 games suggested will have incredibly good point accrual times but from there they can fluctuate quite widely, and before you know it you'll have gone from 220pts/60 secs to 1081pts/2889 secs, so varying up which games you load up is key. The payouts are not instantaneous and although it says these can take up to 7 days I've always got my vouchers within 24 hours. Finally, some of the games are pretty notification heavy so you need to remember to go into your settings to disable to notifications after installing each.

What are the positives

The primary positive is that you just need one of the games open, you don't need to be actively playing for the points to build up. I tend to just load something up when I go to cook dinner, or before a work meeting starts so that it can tick away while I'm busy anyway.

The next main point is that I've found you do actually get some decent little games show up on there. I have 3 that I don't even check the pay rate on anymore, I just play them for enjoyment.

The variety of payout option and speed of payouts is better than a few other services/websites that I've tried previously.

It also provides new signups with the same bonuses as the person who referred them - both get 250 points, but then a bonus equal to 25% of the other party's earnings every day. New signups also get a starting balance of 5555 points.

Summary

In short, I've found this to be a legitimate way of low-input earning. You do need to keep an eye on the shifting payout rates for each game, but these do come down again. I need to experiment more under different conditions, but at the moment running a game for 45 minutes will lead to a massive increase in accrual time. The amount of points that you earn will increase as well, but not proportionately. Both later come down again, but I have noticed that sometimes in the list of games the inflated accrual rate that is reported automatically changes, other times it seems that the reported rate stays that high until the game is launched again, and then shows the updated, improved rate.

My gf has this installed to her phone as well, and having the 2 way 25% bonus has meant that on days that my payout rates are low, hers have been a little better and the bonus has subsidised the reduced earning rate for me, and vice versa. I've had the app for 5 weeks am about to hit the £20 mark in earnings and have already successfully withdrawn £15 in the form of amazon vouchers. My girlfriend has been using for around 3.5 weeks, cashed out £5 once and is close to £10 cashout now.
