Anyone use an online bank for beer money?
I've been thinking of opening an online checking/savings account, but am not sure how good of an idea that is.
Specifically I've been looking at Ally Bank since they seem to be popular on reddit, but then I also see horror stories like this or this which makes me hesitate... Obviously those are more geared towards selling things which beer money typically isn't, but it's just the "receiving varying amounts" part that makes me kinda paranoid.
Do any of you use online banks like Ally and have you had any problems with it for beer money?
Are you using the free personal account or a business account, and how long have you been using it?
Follow up question: Do you ever get 1099-like "income" from beermoney sites? How do you list gift cards or payments on your taxes?
