Respondent.io—is this a scam?

Got invited to a good opinion survey associated with my use of a certain chain cafe that I meal order from, national chain that may have been involved in a pretty large scale data breach last year. Had to test my video connection today for the 1:1 discussion group that happens tomorrow, but was a little taken aback when the webcam discussion was with another guy on webcam clearly in his own apartment (not an office) in India. Is this common for surveys to be done like this through a third party team or am I about to get scam hammered? Discussion took place on the discussion.io site. I’m not sure how a scam like this would work unless it involved that breach of info from that certain cafe chain last year, maybe a way to identify info linked to associated accounts? Or am I being paranoid? This would be my first paying session so I’m not sure how they normally go.
