Should I attend a paid auto research study with A Point of View Research? They confirmed $200 by check at completion, but reviews are mixed.
I got a mailer from A Point of View Research inviting me to an in-person auto research study in Pasadena. It says I’ll receive $200 for evaluating vehicles. I emailed them to confirm, and they replied that I’ll be paid at the event as soon as I’m finished, by check handed to me.
I was already screened based on the car I own, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra. They didn’t mention any other conditions besides attending and completing the session.
My concern is that I found mixed Yelp reviews. Some people say they were paid with no problem, especially for in-person auto studies. Others claim they completed studies and were not paid, though some of those seem to involve online studies, third-party vendors, PayPal, gift cards, or delayed payment.
I’m not looking to be confrontational or make a scene. I just don’t want to waste two hours or get into a payment dispute over $200.
Has anyone here personally done an in-person auto clinic or focus group with A Point of View Research? Did they actually pay you at the end? Would you go if you had written confirmation that payment is by check at completion?
