Mobile phone for work - Income tax deduction for employee

Hi,
My employer doesn't provide work phones, but expects us to use our own phones for general use for work, and is planning on sharing everyone's personal numbers company wide.

In my mind this means that a portion of the tax paid on the cost of the phone and the monthly contract I pay should be tax deductible right, as its necessary for my job.

I have claimed relief on other expenses via HMRC but there isn't an option for things like mobile phones.

Has anyone done this legitimately?
