New to mTurk, is it really viable for new users?

Im finding it somewhat difficult to even get 10 a day /10 days to meet the probation period
, either HIT will time out, can never catch one (yes using forker and panda), HIT has technical issue, what have you.
I was doing some research and saw that there was an auto catcher from a particular site, with applications like that, is it even possible or reasonable for someone without such an extension to really use/profit from mTurk?
