How To Characterize Work on Tests

I haven’t worked in a few years and am not actively looking for employment. When tests ask me to characterize my working status, I never know if I should click “unemployed”, “retired” or “self employed” since I am trying to make money on these sites and put in several hours daily doing so. Any advice or suggestions based on your experience? I find that by using “unemployed” or “retired” I am screened out of most studies, but I want to click the proper thing regardless. Thx!!
