Shelf audit question

Today I had a job through Clickworker to go to a store and use an app that took a bunch of photos of shelves and then mashed them together and made one big photo

The app was bad so it was taking me forever, after about 45 minutes the manager comes up and asks if I have authority or a letter to do what I’m doing. Then she asked me to leave.

I left no problem, but do you really need to show them something to do a shelf audit? I’ve done them before other places with no issues but now I’m nervous to do more.
