This week's grocery haul: I got paid $5 to take $130 worth of Laundry Detergent, Razors, Makeup, Snacks, and more!

Here are the goodies.

Not a lot of items today, but a deceivingly high total thanks to CVS's stupidly high prices ($75.52). My Wal-mart haul wasn't particularly great thanks to a cruddy mid week bonus, but I needed to make progress towards my $35 bonus which is going to expire at the end of the month. I'll be finishing that up this weekend.

Total: $130.02

Coupons: $8.98

CVS Digital Coupons: $51.00

CVS ECB Earned: $20.00

Total Cash Back: $55.01

Final Cost: -$4.97 - Money Maker!

Here is the complete break down and sites used. The coupons at CVS were all digital. The Kellogg's coupon was for a free product up to $5 which I got from the Free Breakfast promotion earlier this month. All of the other coupons were printable. I don't include sites that take any receipt such as Coinout, ReceiptPal, etc on my breakdown. The stores are listed in the breakdown image.

Brandclub is a newer addition to my hauls. If you're not familiar with the app, you can read about it on the post I made the other day. I also have a guide about how I do trips like this if you're interested. Note: Individual deals vary by user for most apps. If you don't have the deals right now, you can try checking back later.

If you aren't interested in this kind of thing, please keep your comments to yourself. If you don't like what I buy, you can buy different products. If you don't like hunting for deals, you can do surveys, microtasks, games or whatever else you like instead. There is no need to discourage other users just because you aren't interested in the same things!

Some additional deals I didn't/couldn't take advantage of:

  • Betr Ibuprofin is $7.62 at my store with $6 back on Ibotta

  • Gillette Labs - Possibly a good deal at CVS if you have the right coupons. There's $5 back on Ibotta, a $5 coupon MFR coupon on their app or coupons.com, and you get $4 ECB for 2 Gillette or $10 for 3 Gillette.

  • Malt o Meal is on Shopkicks for 350 points.

  • Clorox - $3.21 back on MyPoints when you buy 2.

  • Red Gold Tomato Love - Free on Ibotta & $0.25 back on Fetch

  • Evolve - Free single bottle on Ibotta & $0.75 back on Fetch

  • Ready Sports Drink - Free on Ibotta

  • Free Core Bar at Walgreens, CVS, or Speedway on Ibotta

  • Free Tazo Tea on Ibotta. (Mine was $1 since I already bought it earlier)

  • Free Treasure Cave Blue Cheese Crumbles on Ibotta

  • Back to the Roots Soil - Free at Lowes on Fetch

  • Lots of stacking deals for Maybeline New York on Fetch

  • Lots of stacking deals for Mtn Dew Spark, Major Melon, and Zero on Fetch

  • Swagbucks has $10 back on a $15 purchase of Pure Life water

  • Poligrip - Ibotta + Shopkick + coupon = ~$1.30

  • Free coca cola energy (Single + 4-pack) on Ibotta

  • Kaboom and Oxiclean at Dollar General - Pair with the $5/25 Saturday coupon, and many stores have coupons on the products (mine didn't)

  • Kellogg's Free Breakfast Program - You can get a coupon for one free product up to $5 for Kellogg's Cereal, Pop-Tart, Nutri-Grain, or Eggo when you purchase an eligible product. Limit of 3. Just a note/warning - my coupon didn't scan properly at Wal-Mart (most of the "free" ones don't). The employees at my store don't have a problem entering it manually, but ymmv.

  • $5 Vudu promo code when you buy 1 bag of Twizzlers

Afterthoughts

Almost done with that big Blossom bonus! 94/115 with 5 days left to finish it off. I'll be getting that $35 this weekend, and I'm super excited to finally be done with it.

My Walmart trip wasn't great, but I expected it with that cruddy mid week bonus. I'm a bit sad they didn't have the Passion Tazo tea. I really like that one, and I normally hate tea. Today's trip is technically a $4.09 "loss" according to my standards - which puts me at about $6 in total "losses" this month I believe. I needed to make progress towards that $35 bonus though, and it'll all be a money maker once I finish it this weekend. I almost didn't make the $1 bonus today, actually. I originally planned to get Mtn Dew Spark + Mellon, but I noticed the Zero Sugar and grabbed that instead since I had a $2 rebate on Fetch. Unfortunately, there was no Zero Sugar Ibotta offer. I didn't really feel like wasting 15+ minutes going back to Walmart and trying to figure out what item under $1 I could get just to hit that $1 bonus. Thankfully, I remembered that our Giant Eagle had the Breakstones, so I just popped in there on my drive home and grabbed one.

My CVS trip this week was crazy good though. I had a TON of coupons for Covergirl. Didn't even use them all since I knew the remaining balance would be wasted. I also had quite a few offers for different Gillettes, but the green Venus ones are my absolute favorite razors so I decided to get those. Unfortunately, my store only had 2, so I grabbed one of the Pink ones as well. I could've gotten one of the other Gillettes that I had a MFR coupon for and spent less overall, but I probably wouldn't have used them. Out of all of the Gillettes I've used, I only like the Venus line. Certainly can't complain about spending $11 for 6 blades when they're normally $3+/piece.

Unrelated to the hauls, but if you see any bare root fruit plants on clearance at your store - be careful buying them. Our store has them super cheap right now, but they're all dead (check the roots, if they're dark, they're dead) and they're infested with flies.

Time Spent

I remembered to track my time spent again today!

  • CVS - ~30 min planning, and 30 in the store. I was in line for a good 10 minutes of that. Planning always takes forever due to their website being slow as hell.

  • Sheetz - A solid 3 minutes to get in, get out, and scan my receipt.

  • Walmart - I was in the store for 30 minutes, which was mostly just for deal items this time. I did grab a few of my usual things though, went through the clearance stuff, and I was walking slightly slower than normal due to hurting my foot last week. I also scanned my receipts while in the store, which took a little bit due to Wal-Marts wifi acting up and Ibotta not catching multiple products. Planning for Wal-Mart took place over the span of about 2 hours while I brushed the cat, ate breakfast, fought with the papers flying everywhere due to having the window open, and did various other little things.

  • Giant Eagle - Just a couple minutes. Zero planning involved since I already knew about the offer.

Food From Deals

I normally batch cook, so it's not unusual for me to make a bunch of food at once and then pop most of it in the freezer, but this weekend I focused on using up some of the stuff I've been getting in hauls. Pardon the mess. I did all of this (and more) in a day, and didn't have time to clean up between each photo. Ham & Pepperoni Stromboli with Jalapeno Cheese, a super delicious Lemon Butter Bundt Cake, some Personal Pizzas, Enchiladas, Stuffed Pepper Soup, and Mini Lasagnas.

Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.
