Is MTURK as good as people say it is?

I’ve been looking at beer money and the only real good source of income is user testing, and the others like Mturk have a horrible hour wage rate. I’m confused because so many people put Mturk as their biggest source of income despite it paying much less than minimum wage.

Is the only real good rate user testing?
