X-post r/Workonline - Appen & Smartphone verification

Hey all,

just signed up with Appen and I'm unable to verify that I have a smartphone with internet connectivity - a must for most project tasks.

I have a new Samsung Galaxy A21s, fully updated, etc and no matter which QR code app I use (including the camera's native one) or browser, it reports back that I'm either running a non-Android device or a non-chrome browser.

Anyone else have this issue? I've reached out to Appen but nothing yet...
