Any US based people using AirTM

I ran a test case through AirTM for some earnings from Timebucks for $11. Apparently they require you to send an invoice through Paypal to the person who processes the transfer. The final amount was 92% of the full amount. I had a WTF moment.

It's only about a dollar, but for larger transactions that's ridiculous. First the AirTM conversion rate + 9% from some guy in Argentina. Anybody know if this is common or what? I might need to rethink how to process stuff now.
