Two questions for people who frequently receive Amazon gift cards

People who frequently receive Amazon gift cards through an email from Amazon emailing system (not a code manually written by sender), how long time do we have before redeeming this code becomes impossible?

I once got an email directly from amazon but the gifter emailed me several times pushing me to redeemed it quickly and to contact them if something went wrong, what could cause them to say that? I mean he did not email me codes manually written, it was a fresh email from Amazon...

2nd question: did you ever face a problem for selling these codes to any a third party?
