Would you buy a phone you get paid to use?

I didn't realize this "beer money" culture was actually a thing until I did some googling and stumbled upon this app...

Anyway, I have a client who created a phone that comes with apps you get paid to use. (Ie, you get paid to listen to music, read/watch news, charge your phone, you get paid everytime you open an app that lets you surf the internet.) The client claims you can earn up to $60 a month just by using the phone/the apps on their phone...

I'm not here to promote this client's product, I'm just curious, would anyone actually pay $80 for this phone? And if not, why not? (I assume privacy is a huge issue, but maybe that is not the case?)

I'm assuming they make the bulk of their money from the sale of phones?

I'm worried this is a huge scam, judging by the other posts I'm seeing here. (I'm a marketer hired by this client.)
