MyPoints suddenly asking for SMS verification to redeem rewards?

Normally I can just enter my password and confirm the reward. But now I'm being asked to verify via SMS. Is it just me or are others experiencing this? I just changed my password recently because I accidentally deleted it from my password manager, I wonder if that might have triggered something or if it's irrelevant.

I don't really want to give them my phone number if I don't have to. I also just read a blog of theirs from last year that google voice or prepaid stuff won't work? My phone is on a prepaid plan so I wonder if it would even work or not?
