I always wondered, any legitimate services that pay for taking part in distributed computing?

fortunately my electricity plan is grandfathered into a plan from the 80s where no matter how much i run i will always pay the same power bill.

i got a bunch of old PC's, not super chuggers but were good for their time and are still up to bar for windows 10, and my main PC runs idle anytime im not playing games (i prefer doing my coding and art from the comfort of my bed on my laptop)

this made me wonder, are there any legitimate sites that offer money for engaging in distributed computing? always a bit sketch on using these stuff because you never know what might be bein done with your system resources, but with stuff like folding for home and the things its achieved, i imagine someone has tried to monetize it?
