Neevo Definecrowd - My experiences and statistics

Hi there, folks of r/beermoney !

Recently, I have seen a couple discussions about Neevo, so I decided to share my experiences with anyone who might be thinking about trying it out. With this, I tried to share a more "analytical side", keeping my judgements and personal opinions low and focusing on the numbers a bit more.

What is Neevo?

Neevo is a platform for microtasks such as: recording short audios, validating audios recorded by people or computers, validating if a given text and audio match, etc. You will get invitation links via e-mail, if a job opens up. You will usually have to pass a quick qualification test before beginning the job, just so they see you have understood the task at hand. Tasks are available in a variety of different languages.

There have been countless people for and against this platform, as they have become known for paying slowly and, in some cases, not at all. Others have not experienced these issues and therefor enjoy the money they make off of the jobs Neevo provides. For me, the experiences is mixed, but you can hopefully form your own opinion with the infos below.

General Experiences I have made

All of the tasks I've done so far are in german.

My experience is that jobs come in batches, so there might be days and weeks where I do not get any jobs at all.

Most tasks have a cap limit on them, so I can only do so many tasks before they close the job for me.

Some jobs are gone fast, so try to be quick about doing as many tasks as you can, if they're worth your time.

You will generally get more invites to jobs if you first do the language tests you can find in the "skills & badges" tab. (FYI: If you're a non-native english speaker, but around the C1 level, you can try out the english native test as well. I passed it, but only get german jobs recommended to me anyway.)

The qualification tests you have to do before you can start most jobs are sometimes unfair and frustrating, but atleast you can usually try again a few times. Nevertheless, I have gotten rejected from jobs for not passing them before, so don't get too discouraged if this happens to you.

Neevo throws in a couple of tasks to see wether you're really doing your tasks like you're supposed to. If they "catch you slacking off"/getting these test tasks wrong, the job might close for you and the message "work didn't meet quality standards" will appear under the job. As they do not give a proper explanation to this, and you cannot see what exactly you did wrong, this can become pretty frustrating as well.

Personal Statistics

I have been with Neevo since the beginning of August, so about 2 months now.

The jobs I have done had a pay range from $0.03 - $0.25 per valid task. I would guess that my personal per hour average is around $8-$10, which is pretty good. Most jobs have a really fair pay-rate, and generally, you can tell fairly quickly whether the job is worth your time.

Here is the list of all my jobs since I signed up for Neevo:

Total 5,599 3,559 $145.14 - - Y: 11 N: 5

On average, it took Neevo 15 days to pay out my money (difference between last date of work and date of last payment). The longest delay was 37 days, the shortest as 3 days.

My best guess as of now is that Jobs 15 and 16 will still be paid. As they're fairly recent I wouldn't have expected for them to be paid out yet anyway. Of course I'm also hoping for payments for Job 4 and 10. I'm not too confident I will get a whole lot of money out of them, especially because I apparently didn't meet their standards, but my best guess would also be that they'll still pay me some kind of money for it.

The jobs in this list are ONLY the ones that I have actually completed tasks in. I have not accepted every job they have sent me an invitation for and I have not gotten accepted in every job I wanted to take. Sometimes I was too slow and the tasks were already taken up by other people. Sometimes I didn't get in due to their qualification test. In total I have 11 jobs in my history that have no completed tasks.

I am by no means an expert when it comes to this site, or beermoney in general. Actually, I am a fairly new member of this sub. However, if you have any questions or find that I have made any mistake, feel free to let me know!

PS: I didn't know exactly which flair fit best, I hope this one is fine? Every other Neevo post I came across was either Rant or Question, neither of which would seem fitting for my post.
