Will inbox dollars really give me the money for the app completions?

I got inbox dollars and I'm doing the "rise is kingdoms" task, which is where I play the app for awhile and then once I'm at a certain level I get 40$. I'm worried though that I'll put in all that time and it won't work. Does anyone have experience with this?
