Linking Gamermine with Steam

Has anyone tried linking gamermine with steam? It sounds like a good idea, an easy way to make money but are they going to do anything to your account besides basically being a walking ad? Seems pretty sketchy to me. Would it also be okay if I just created a new Steam account and linked it to that one instead of my personal one?
