QA World (Transcription services)

QA world is a transcription company that can offer jobs. They transcribe calls which I assume mostly from customer service. The audio call can be long or short depending on what you have chosen to work with. They pay 20 cents per audio minute ( they pay you based on the length of the audio call you transcript not for the time you spent transcribing an audio file ).

HOW TO APPLY:

1.) Go to their website

2.) Fill up the application form - First name - Last name - email address

3.) Proceed to qualification test

REQUIREMENTS:

1.) Good Internet connection

2.) Access to computer

3.) Headphones

After qualification they will require you to:

1.) Create slack account

2.) Have Grammarly extension

PROS:

1.) Easy to qualify

I highly doubt if they really check your answer but compare to the qualifications test of other transcription company, QA world has the easiest qualification test and also they also approve applicants the fastest which is within 10 minutes

2.) Legitimate Paying website

Yes, they pay through PayPal weekly.

3.) You can start immediately after successful qualification

Once qualification are done, you can immediately start transcribing if there is any task available.

CONS:

1.) Poor Audio Quality

This is the major challenges you can face in transcribing at QA world. Most of the calls has a lot of static noises, some or most of the callers have heavy accent. Some callers grumbles and some words are incomprehensible ( You can have limited amount of "[inaudible]" per audio minutes )

2.) Competition for the task

If you refresh the page and it shows available tasks in your screen, expect that it will only last for 1 - 2 seconds and it was taken, all of them. Due to the competition,you can't actually choose any file to work with because you can't even read the description per task because they disappear immediately. I was able to get an audio file by just clicking any file available.

3.) Low paying

They pay $ 0.20 per audio file. You can spent 30 minutes to 1 hour to a 3 minutes audio file and earn a dollar. And not every transcription is paid.

4.) Rating system

They have rating systems, They will rate your work 1 star as the lowest and 5 star as highest, they will only pay for a 3 star rated transcription. And their standards are so hard to achieve
