Unusual user testing ?

I got a really unusual user testing test wear hat to download a software which didn't run anything just was executable and it was about translations unfortunately I rushed through the beginning because I was concerned that I won't get the test so I didn't fully read the instructions but it is kind of concerning that I didn't that I just made me run the app and said they will contact me in 1 to 2 weeks.
